10 days of exciting multicultural events and activities showcasing the history, cultural diversity and talent of the beautiful pearling town of Broome. A world class Festival in one of Australia’s most unique and spectacular towns, events include the waking of Sammy the Dragon, touching tributes to the towns Pearling History and Legends, a Float Parade through the historic streets of Chinatown, Mardi Gras concert and Food Festival, Carnival of Nations, Dragon Boat Races, Gala Ball, and an impressive closing ceremony concert culminating in a fireworks display over the town of Broome. In 2008 we will acknowledge the contribution of the Filipino people in Broome’s historic pearling industry. |
